Welcome to Lewisville Community Church
We all like to hear good news.
Good news we like to hear is, "You got the job!", "You're cancer free!", "You're getting a bonus!", and many other good news like this.
But here at Lewisville Community Church there's good news that we love to hear and care about even more than all the good news mentioned above.
It's the good news about Jesus.
The good news about Jesus is that he rose from the grave proving he is the Son of God.
Believe this and you will receive everlasting life. Why is this good news?
Because we need him.
We need Jesus because of who we are, what we do, and what we've done.
After God created all things perfectly in the beginning, Adam and Eve brought the curse of sin upon themselves and upon all of us who would live after them when they disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit.
This curse affects all of us. None of us can escape it...except through faith in Jesus.
The curse of sin gives us a nature that leads us to not do what we should and do what we shouldn't do. Our very nature is no longer perfect. We need someone to save us. We need Jesus.
Because of what Jesus has done for us we can be set free from the curse of sin, be made right with God, and receive everlasting life.
But this can only happen through faith in him.
Only through faith in Jesus can we be made right with God.
There is no other way to be made right with God. Jesus is the only way.
When we believe in Jesus, we receive God's righteousness. This righteousness is what we need to be made right with God.
Without faith in Jesus, we don't have God's righteousness and can't be made right with him.
When we believe we can be good enough to be right with God or believe in anything else to make us right with God, we are not putting on God's righteousness. We are putting on our own righteousness. We are being self-righteous.
Put on God's righteousness today by believing in Jesus.
Be made right with God today by believing Jesus is the Son of God.
Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the 3rd day, proving he is the Son of God. Because Jesus is the Son of God, all who believe in Jesus will receive everlasting life.
This message of good news can only be received by faith.
Believe this today and receive everlasting life.
Believe this today and receive forgiveness of sins.
Believe this today and be made right with God.
If you've believed in Jesus today, please let us know by sending Jonathan a quick email about it - firstname.lastname@example.org. We are excited for you!
